I realize I have been a little obsessed with shoes lately. But how can you blame me? They are my favorite accessory. I go in spurts … for example, I may buy 5 pairs in a row but then nothing for a couple of years. Not so bad, right? Currently, I am shoe nesting. I feel this random need to stock up on shoes - for what, I am not sure. But nonetheless, I am nesting. Perhaps it’s more that I want to give these beautiful shoes a home (and they would love my closet). Or maybe it’s because the press has been honing in on the 10% increase on designer shoes starting this month and I have to get a leg up.

Did you know that 42% of Americans will be diagnosed with cancer? Startling, I know. Chances are, you are close to several people inflicted with the disease. Cancer patients undergo a lot. However, sometimes the health of their skin is overlooked. According to a new survey by CancerCare, skin-related side effects are a concern for most cancer patients who have undergone cancer treatment. The survey revealed that nearly 80% were concerned about the actual skin effects they experienced as a result of their treatment and how those side effects (irritation, rash and dryness) affected their quality of life.

Becca’s packaging is just beautiful. And the pump makes it simple to get just the right amount. Texture is great, it’s moisturizing and smells very light. Love the glow it provides, especially mixed with foundation. I give this a B+.

Ecru Sunlight Holding Spray and Sea Clean Shampoo
Love the bottle of Sunlight Holding Spray. And it smells great (clean herbal scent)! The texture is nice because it’s not too heavy - and it provides a light shine. However, it does not hold well. I love the smell and texture of the Sea Clean Shampoo. Wish it lathered better, though. Both get a B-.

Tommy Bahama Perfume Set Sail South Seas
Fairly plain packaging- though beach related. This is a nice, clean refreshing combination of fruit and floral, however,

Though it’s not something I typically do, after trying Theraderm products in August 2007, I just had to speak with the maker himself - James Beckman, M.D., board certified plastic surgeon and chemist, and founder and CEO of Therapon, Inc. His willingness to share each of his products’ purposes and ingredients with a complete stranger at the time, for the love of skin, was impressive to say the least. It’s been such a pleasure getting to know Dr. Beckman over the last nine months. And I certainly look forward to meeting him in person this summer when I hit the road traveling.

It’s no surprise that I am one of Dr. Beckman’s biggest fans. Honestly, the products speak for themselves. However, Dr. Beckman is much more than the name behind Therapon. In fact, the creation of Therapon was out of pure passion for his patients while practicing plastic and reconstructive surgery. Happy Mother’s Day, my stylish friends and moms. While I have had the most wonderfully lazy day (isn’t that what we all want on Mother’s Day!!), I couldn’t wait to tell you about some exciting news. My girls are coming into town! Alison Raffaele of Alison Raffaele Cosmetics and Victoria Luburich of Wallett Cosmetics will be at Jeffre Scott Apothecary this Wednesday, May 14th. They will be at the Piper Glen location in the morning, the Myers Park location in the afternoon, and the new Latta Arcade location in the evening. Local gals, please plan on stopping by one (or all) of the locations to try Alison’s newly redesigned and reformulated cosmetic line and have Victoria give you a lip-over (best lipgloss around).
