Fall Must Have - Great Skin

I say it every season, but it’s the truth. Good skin is always in. If your skin is looking good, you will look and feel good all over. With Fall approaching, it’s important to get into a healthy skin care routine. If you tend to be on the dry side, like me, look for super hydrating formulas that penetrate the skin. If you tend to be oily, reach for something noncomedogenic and less emollient.

I have gathered a short list of some of my favorites. For facial cleansers, I love Theraderm Cleansing Wash and Obagi-C Rx System - C Cleansing Gel. Both lather nicely and leave skin clean and soft, not stripped of moisture. There are some really great serums on the market - ingredients are key. My picks: IS Clinical Active Serum, Obagi Professional-C Serum 20% Strength, Boots No. 7 Restore & Renew .

I am particular about moisturizers. They must penetrate deep into the dermal layers to keep skin hydrated all day (and all night) versus sitting on top of the skin. My picks: Kinerase Ultimate Day Moisturizer, Creme d’Olives, Bioelements Sleepwear, Boots No. 7 Protect & Perfect Night Cream, and Eau Thermale Avene Hydrance optimale rich. And there are some great kits, from regular size to travel, such as Theraderm Skin Renewal System, SkinMedica TNS Recovery Complex & Dermal Repair Cream, Om Aroma Co. Luxe Face Collection, and Leaf & Rusher Mini Essentials.

Remember to exfoliate up to 2-3 times a week, depending on the product you are using. And masks act as multi-taskers, helping to either detox, tighten pores, firm, hydrate or a combination thereof. If you have any questions about various products, please feel free to reach out.

  1. Catherine Horgan responds:

    Hi Donna,

Bioelements makes an Oil Control Sleepwear that would work well for you. It contains topical calcium, time-released retinol, collagen-stimulating protein peptides and vitamin E. This is for overnight use, however, I have used Sleepwear in the day, too.

Also, DDF makes an Ultra-Lite Oil-Free Moisturizing Dew SPF 15 which would be great for day. Both of these brands are found on Spalook from the link on my special promotions page.

    I hope this helps,
    Catherine

  2. Donna Hart responds:

    Catherine,

Of your favorite moisturizers, which do you find to be the most noncomedogenic?

    Thanks!

    Donna
