Kate Somerville’s Line Release
This product seemed to break up a bit. I had to shake it before each use. It wasn’t as moisturizing as other products that I have tried, but it delivered some moisture. Not having used it long enough to reap the anti-aging benefits, it’s hard for me to put a grade on this one. In my opinion, a C.
Kate Somerville’s Protect SPF 30
Great consistency. Easy to use. Nice smell to it. And it contains antioxidants - fabulous! However, I am all about the ingredients and unfortunately, it doesn’t contain some of the important ones necessary to completely protect against harmful rays. Until a good bit of zinc is added into this product, I can’t grade this.
Kate Somerville’s Gentle Cleanser
I really like the gentleness of this product. It also cleans really well. I enjoyed this product and would definitely recommend. This gets a B.
Fiberwig Beyond Mascara: Paint-on False Lashes
Two words: Pleasantly bizarre! I have to admit, I was ready to send this back and fore-go a review. By giving it the old college try, I finally figured out how to use it. For me, I don’t like this mascara by itself. It goes on too thin and provides no volume. However, if applied over-top your regular mascara … prepared to be WOWed! Holy cow, talk about long sweeping lashes! It claims to give you the look of false lashes and in part, it does. I mean seriously, I never knew my eyelashes were that long. This happens to be the top-selling mascara in Japan. It’s fiber-based, so it coats the surface of each lash and is clump-free, smudge-free and lash-lengthening. It looks bizarre coming out of the tube … all these fibers poking out on the wand. Do not be afraid, go for it and see for yourself how amazing it is. I give this a B++.
Minnie Rose Cashmere Hoodie
Now that the weather has cooled down, this is the first thing I reach for. Absolutely love, love, love my chocolate colored Minnie Rose cashmere hoodie. I bought it back in February/March and wore it almost daily. With Fall, I am back in the saddle again. It’s a must have for warmth, comfort and a touch of casual style. Definitely an A.
Dr. LeWinn’s Facial Polishing Gel
You just can’t go wrong with Dr. Lewinn’s products. Jeffre Scott introduced me to this line, in which I had previously never heard of. For ten years running, Dr. Lewinn’s products have been number 1 in Australia. News is spreading fast into the States. The Facial Polishing Gel is fantastic! It’s gentle, a snap to use, and does an amazing job at exfoliating. It leaves your skin soft, healthy and glowing. Stick it in the shower for ease of use. It has a coconut smell to it (not my favorite) but the product really does its job. B+
Dr. LeWinn’s Line Smoothing Complex Hydrator
Wonderful product that hydrates nicely and locks in moisture all day. It is also touted to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles. This gets a B.
Dr. LeWinn’s Line Smoothing Complex Double Intensity
This is my favorite product of the line so far. It smells delightful - just like one of my favs (Sleepwear). I am not familiar with Snap-8, one of the ingredients. However, I believe it’s responsible for the firming properties. I love that it’s chock full of great hydrators, collagen boosters and antioxidants. In my book, an A.
TOUS Eau de Toilette
Beautiful packaging, especially the TOUS Touch. I like that the scent isn’t overwhelming. It’s light and easy to wear day into night. However, it didn’t make me grab for it every day. It has a bit of a floral scent with slightly musky undertone. The mens TOUS is even better, though. Fragrances are so personal, so take the grade with a grain of salt. For me, I give this a C.
Cosmedicine Medi-Matte Face Tint (light) SPF 20
I do not wear foundation and typically tinted moisturizers put more color on my face than I like. This product is terrific … for many reasons. One: it totally mattifies. Two: it leaves no sign of obvious color and therefore, no foundation lines. The only downfall, there is absolutely no slip to it. So, if you do not have a moisturizer or sunscreen that will provide a silky base for this tinted moisturizer, you will have a hard time getting movement out of it. It’s a matte product, therefore is drying. I did not have a problem at all once I layered my sunscreen underneath. I like applying in areas on my face - such as underneath my eyes, around my nose, under my chin - rather than everywhere. You will notice that I mentioned using a sunscreen in addition. Yes, I see that this product has an SPF of 20. However, the ingredients don’t lead me to believe it’s enough protection. That withstanding, I still love this product! B++

Hi Mimi,
Good question. The name of the item tested will have a link to the site where you can buy the products with every product tested. For some strange reason, the link broke with the Minnie Rose hoodie initially, however, it has been fixed. Minnie Rose has fantastic colors that change with each season. Also, check out the Minnie Rose Cantonbury Cable Hoodie in Pony - beautiful!!!
Good luck,
Catherine
I am curious where one finds some of the products being reviewed… Specifically the Minnie Rose cashmere Hoodie???
