Poll: Knee-High Socks - Yes or No?

I was browsing through some fashion mags yesterday and came across knee-high socks … everywhere! I mean, on almost every shoe ad (and that’s a lot of pages). I am all for the patterned tight to add texture and color. You have fabulous options for dresses, skirts and shoes/boots. I even like the thigh-high tights that are new this year - especially in cable knit. However, I like them paired with an above the knee dress or skirt that comes over the tights - and preferably with boots. Prada is not the only designer showcasing its shoes with socks this season. In fact, the majority of socks being advertised with shoes are toeless, as seen below.

  1. Drilly responds:

Hi all, I wear white cable knee socks all the time with shorts, skirts or a dress. I started wearing them as a youngster and now at 43 i still love to wear them. It’s also fun to try all kinds of foot wear with them.

  2. Dan C responds:

I think knee high socks have come and gone in fashion, but feel they are here to stay.I love that style on most womem.

  3. Catherine responds:

    Hi Tasha,
You are right, in that most people are unsure how to wear the look successfully. It’s a runway thing that hopefully translates okay to the street. Perhaps you can contribute to [my] girlfriend’s closet and send in some cute pics of this look.

  4. tasha responds:

They are stylish and sexy. High socks with a pair of peep toe shoes or pumps with a skirt is definitley a style that is modern and cute. I just think most people are scared or unsure how to wear them.

  5. peustis responds:

Absolutely not unless you’re a granny or a schoolgirl.

  6. Diane responds:

    Not so much, for me.
